Once you reach the end of the lake, return the same way. ![]() Surprisingly, it’s more peaceful than the rockpile, offers lots of fabulous views, and also spots to sit down and soak it all in. The Lakeshore Trail is a 1.5 km easy walk from Moraine Lake Lodge to the end of the lake. But lots of amazing viewpoints await you in this area, each of them are outstanding on their own, and any of them would make your visit to Moraine Lake worth it. If you think you won’t get any better view of Moraine Lake than that from the Rockpile, well, there’s truth to that. It gets busy at the top, but luckily, there’s space to spread out, sit on the benches or on the flat rocks. You cross a bridge, keep right (notice the trailhead for Consolation Lakes on your left) and take the stairs to the different viewing areas at the top of the Rockpile.īecause of the stairs it’s not wheelchair-accessible or stroller-friendly, but even small kids can cope with it (if you have the patience). The Rockpile Trailhead is near the outhouses, and the trail is really rather a walk on a paved/gravel path, with lots of stairs.
